What is Mother's Day?
The first Mother's day was celebrated in 1908 when a woman named Anna Jarvis held a memorial service for her mother at a Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia name St Andrew. Her mom passed away in 1905 and she had started a campaign to recognise Mother’s Day as a holiday in the US. Her request denied initally but in 1911 US started to celebrated Mother's day to show gratitude to their Mothers.
Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation to honour mothers, choosing every second Sunday of May as a national holiday.
