Vibiemme manufactured the first electronic machine - model Dosatronic.
The following year the technical know-how became easier and was applied on the Vibiemme Replica model: the first electronic Replicawas born.
At the end of the ‘80s there was a boom in export, the end of the Francoist regime allowed Spain to become the third market in the world in terms of quantity of imported espresso coffee machines; Portugal, surprisingly, becomes the second one.
In 1997 Vibiemme produced the Kometa model (from the Hale Bopp comet, which could be seen worldwide during that year). It was the first model equipped with a new brewing group (E64), an easier version compared to the E61-Vibiemme, always conceived following the principles of thermosiphonic circulation and mechanical pre-infusion.
From the mid ’90s the coffee roasters, through the first loan for use agreements, set new rules in the way of distributing espresso machines. This new trend, as a result, gave an exponential increase in new bars openings, even if daily coffee consumption decreased. To meet the new target, also products are further simplified:
